Australian Online Intergroup of
" Nothing matters more to AA's future welfare than the manner in which we use the colossus of modern communication. Used unselfishly and well, it can produce results surpassing our present imagination." - Bill Wilson, Grapevine, November, 1960.
The Australian Online Inter-Group of Alcoholics Anonymous was formed in March 2000 to serve all Australian online A.A. groups in the rapidly growing online Fellowship.
AOIG is composed of elected representatives of the online A.A. groups wishing to participate, chosen by their respective groups. As the Fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous grows and flourishes in this new medium of electronic communication, we will strive to provide whatever support we can offer to groups as they carry the message of recovery from alcoholism.
We are pleased to have the opportunity to serve, and strive to further unify the Fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous, both among online groups and between the Online Fellowship and the rest of the Australian and World A.A. service structure.
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues of fees for AA membership: we are self-supporting through our own contributions.
AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

Are you looking for HELP with your drinking? ... can't stop?
We recommend that you call Alcoholics Anonymous on 1300 22 22 22... for the cost of a local call you will be able to speak to someone who will understand and be able to advise you what to do from their own experience.
Online A.A. has many benefits for members who, for any number of reasons, cannot regularly attend 'scheduled' meetings - but AOIG strongly recommends and supports traditional meetings - there is no substitute for the warmth and sharing that is found in face to face meetings. ... or you can email anyone of us on this site (see above ) ...
How to join an Aussie Online e-mail AA Group
Each group has their own guidelines and is autonomous.
The AAustralia email groups began in November 1999 to provide a venue for Australians whether living in Australia or anywhere in
the world to keep in contact with old friends and make new. The group has regularly scheduled topics, including Steps and Traditions, newcomers are welcomed, and members are encouraged to share 'off-topic' recovery related stories and life experiences.
To join one of the AAustralia groups send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Online AA meetings held daily on the Paltalk Platform www.paltalk.com at 10:00 pm Sydney/Melbourne/Queensland Australia. In Adelaide, it begins at 9:30 pm and in Perth at 7:00 pm. Please adjust for daylight saving times. All members especially new members are most welcome. If you have any issues in getting on please message me
(Gordy) email@example.com and we will arrange to get you in.
We are located under Groups/health/overcome addictions/AA OZtralia Unity Recovery Group.
We are also on FaceBook under this name the "Australia Unity Recovery Paltalk Group".
Our AA group has been operating online for over 20 years nonstop carrying the message of hope and was the first online audio meeting in the world continually still running. Please come and do a meeting with us. You will be made most welcome.
